CS Foundation course programme will discontinue as the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) will be introducing one test for all categories of students for registration to Executive Programme.
ICSI will be introducing CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) as a mandatory qualifying test. There will be four papers, including Paper 1 (Business Communication), Paper 2 (Legal Aptitude & Logical Reasoning), Paper 3 (Economic and Business Environment) and Paper 4 (Current Affairs, Presentation and Communication Skills). Students have to take computer-based papers. “An aggregate of 50% and minimum 40% marks in each subject will be the qualifying criteria for CSEET,” said the notification released by ICSI. Graduates / Post Graduates are exempted from the test and can go for direct registration to Executive Programme. However, they have to clear two stages of Company Secretaryship, which are Executive and Professional. On the contrary, 10+2 students have to qualify the Foundation programme for being eligible for the Executive programme. The first CSEET exam will be held in the month of May and the other three tests will be held in July, November and January.
A new clause ‘Continuation of Registration’ is being introduced according to which the students will have to keep their registration renewed from time to time even after passing Professional Programme Stage till completion of all the training requirements so as to become entitled to be enrolled as a member of the Institute. The prescribed fee for seeking ‘Continuation of Registration’ shall be Rs.1000/- per year.
