The traditional education system followed prominently all over the world encourages students to compete with each other to come out at the top of their class.
A school in Ireland has figured out how to give its young students just the right push towards learning emotional skills by doing away with homework for a month before Christmas and replacing it with acts of kindness.
This is the third year of the no-homework-December initiative, thanks to the brilliant response.
Though the school mainly implemented this initiative as a homage to the spirit of Christmas and encourage goodwill instead of indulging in materialism, it also carries out similar initiatives throughout the year – every June, the students are asked to spend some quality time with family instead of being given homework.
