The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, has invited applications for Prime Minister’s Research Fellows (PMRF) Programme for direct admission to the PhD programme at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institutes of Science Education & Research (IISERs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and central universities (which are among the top 100 National Institutional Ranking Framework, NIRF ranked universities).

Applicants who fulfil the eligibility criteria and are finally selected through a selection process will get a fellowship amount of Rs.70,000/- per month for the first two years

Rs.75,000/- per month for the 3rd year

Rs.80,000/- per month in the 4th and 5th year.

Students who have completed or be pursuing the final year of four (or five) year undergraduate in science and technology streams from any institute/university recognised in India. Types of courses accepted:

• Five years integrated MTech
• Five years integrated MSc
• 2-year MSc
• Five-year undergraduate-postgraduate dual degree programmes

The candidates should have secured a CGPA/CPI of at least 8.0 (on a 10-point scale) or equivalent till the last semester

He or she should have secured a score of 750 or higher in the respective GATE subject.

The required academic qualification should be in the preceding three years (i.e., 2017, 2018 and 2019).
