Madhya Pradesh government has decided to promote all students, except for those in class 10 and 12, to higher classes without giving the annual final examinations. Class 10 and 12 students are exempted from this because they are appearing for the MPBSE Board Exams 2020 this year. This decision was taken due to the nationwide covid-19 lockdown.
In a statement issued recently, an official said, The 10th and 12th board examinations will be carried forward and general promotions will be given to students of all other classes. This step was also taken by the Madhya Pradesh state government back on 1984, amid the Bhopal gas tragedy, when all the school students were promoted to higher classes without giving exams, except those students who were to appear for board exams.
