On account of the cold wave in Northern part of India, the District Magistrate of Varanasi Kaushal Raj Sharma has ordered the schools to remain closed till January 8. As per orders, all the schools in Varanasi will remain closed till January 8. As per information, all the schools affiliated to various education boards, without any exception, Anganwadi centres, and Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas will remain closed till January 8.
Last year, schools in Haryana were closed on December 30 and 31 in view of the severe cold wave that gripped the state and other parts of the northern region. In Haryana, minimum temperatures were hovering close to the freezing point at some places, while day temperatures too settled in the range of 10-13 degrees Celsius at most of the places.
Apart from this, all government and private schools up to class 12 were ordered to be shut as per an order issued by Ghaziabad District Magistrate (DM) Ajay Shankar Pandey.
