Indian Navy has begun with the registration process of the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) from today, November 29, on the official website- joinindiannavy.gov.in. Candidates who are interested to appear for INET 2019 can apply directly through the official website of the Indian Navy. The last date for the candidates to apply is December 19, 2019. INET aims to fill a total of 144 posts for Short Service Commission Officers for January 2021 course at Indian Naval Academy, INA, Kerala.
Two of these exams– Combined Defence Services Exam, National Defence Academy and Naval Academy exam-are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). While UPSC conducts the written exam, the interviews are conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).
The entrance examination will be held along with the University Entry Scheme (UES), Combined Defence Services (CDS), Naval Academy exam and National Defence Academy.
INET (Officers) shall be held twice a year from September this year.
Induction of officers in various branches of the Indian Navy is also undertaken through direct entries. Through this process candidates are shortlisted for the SSB interview on basis of the scores obtained in qualifying exam, JEE mains rank and written exam result.
Candidates who have graduated or in the final year of the graduation with an applicable qualifying degree from an AICTE recognized educational institute/ AIO certified foreign university can apply for the exam.
