GCET 2014 will be conducted by DTE Goa for admissions into first year professional degree courses in the state for the academic session of 2014-15. The courses include Medicine (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or MBBS), Dentistry (Bachelor of Dental Surgery or BDS), Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering or BE), Pharmacy (Bachelor of Pharmacy or B Pharm), Architecture (Bachelor of Architecture or B Arch) and Homoeopathy (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery or BHMS). GCET 2014 will pave the way for admissions into government, government-aided and un-aided colleges in Goa.
GCET 2014 is expected to be held on Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7, 2014. The Physics and Chemistry papers will be held on Day 1 from 10 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 4 pm respectively. On Day 2, the Mathematics and Biology papers will be held from 10 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 4 pm respectively. The Results will be declared on Monday, May 19, 2014.
According to DTE Goa officials, candidates aspiring for admissions into professional degree programs under the management quota also need to take the GCET. Admission for candidates who do not take the test will not be considered. Around 3,400 registrations have been received for GCET 2014, according to DTE Goa. Altogether 1,950 candidates are expected to appear for the examination from South Goa and 1,450 from North Goa. GCET was reinstated in the state from 2014 with the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) out of the picture for now.
