On behalf of UGC, the National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Both in Indian Universities and Colleges.
National Testing Agency (NTA) has made a decision to postpone the examination date of CSIR UGC NET 2019 for Assam and Meghalaya students due to the ongoing protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The agency has released an official notification regarding the same at csirnet.nta.nic.in. CSIR UGC NET 2019 exam will be conducted on December 27, 2019. Earlier, the examination was scheduled to be conducted on December 15, 2019.
The examination will be of 200 marks and will be held in two sessions- morning session and afternoon session. The age of the candidate should be a maximum of 28 years as on January 1, 2019.
The official notification read as follows, “The candidates who were scheduled to appear at the Examination Centres located in the States of Assam (viz. the cities of Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, Sivasagar, and Tezpur) and Meghalaya (viz. the city of Shillong), are hereby informed that their examination will now be held on 27 December 2019 at the Centres, Shift & timing already indicated in their earlier Admit Cards.”
