As per IIM Ahmedabad officials, there is a marked increase in inputs in research methodology in the revised program, in keeping with the requirement of the same for the management faculty of India. The “specialization” aspect has been given more focus. The program aims to offer specialized courses in three key domains of management, which are Marketing, Finance as well as Organization Behavior and Industrial Relation, added institute sources.
The modifications were designed over and above the fundamental general management module that follows the basic content of the previous FDP. The changes have been implemented as per feedback given by the institute’s external stakeholders, according to IIM Ahmedabad officials.
FDP is a professional development program for management teachers and researchers. The first FDP was offered in 1979 and has grown into a sought-after program today. Participants who complete the program are awarded a certificate of participation and become members of the IIM Ahmedabad Alumni Association. Partcipants include candidates from countries including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Ethiopia as well.
In another development, the final admission list of the two-year full-time Post Graduate Program (PGP) for the 2014-16 academic session, to be offered by IIM Ahmedabad, has been released by the institute.
